Saturday wasn't a very productive jewelry making day, it was very hot, but I did manage to tidy things up and decide on some things I wanted to make - even started the necklace pictured below. Sunday I managed to make new earrings, finish the necklace and another one I'd had hanging unfinished for months, and put the findings on bracelets that had sat around for awhile.
New earrings
Couldn't get all of them in a square pic, so I cropped out a few

Swarovski crystal dangles
Three new bracelets - the one on the right has freshwater cultured seed pearls, the one in the middle has really interesting ornate bead caps.
Temperatures here were in the 90s - makes it hard to focus when it's hot. I ended up watching a lot of last week's TiVo'd shows until it finally got cooler, but since tomorrow is a work day, I had to stop and finish up, get this written up for early Monday a.m. posting and get to bed. Back tomorrow with some Tuesday Tidbits!

ReplyDeleteDon't mind at all - depending on what I'm working on I can do quite a lot.
ReplyDeleteStringing goes fast, so I could do 6 or 7 lanyards, making simple loop necklaces takes longer, so 3 or 4, wrapped loops even longer.
If I'm making earrings I can do quite a few - those 11 on the blog were all made in one day, and the later half of it as well.
It's usually getting the inspiration and planning (and finding all the beads and stuff) that takes time. If I'm also photographing stuff for listings that really slows me down.
The steampunk assemblages take a lot of time, can only do a couple a day, and they usually take more than a day to finish because the glue has to set, etc. I will start something, put it aside and work on something else when I'm in steampunk mode.
Oh, and I should mention, I have a full time day job Mon - Fri, so most of my work I do in the evenings or weekends.
