I've Been So Busy Today, So Why Don't I Feel Like I Did Enough?

Did some new listings on Art Fire and made a new banner - I liked it a lot, so I've changed my blog banner to use it here - what do you think? I also really like the Rapid Cart widget - wish Etsy had one like it. I'm just not sure where the best place to put 'em is.

This blog is about sharing my thoughts, attempts, failures and successes, as well as for making new online friends, not selling. Thing is, I'd also like to have someplace where people who might be interested in buying can come to shop. I've got a domain and hope eventually to find the time to figure out how to put up a store-front site, but no telling when that will happen.

So, until then, hope you'll forgive the occasional plug for something I've made, which I'll always put down at the bottom so we'll have the conversation before the advertising.

The answer to the question above is that so much of my busy day was wrapped up in photography and organizing and making the new banner - time consuming stuff that doesn't seem to add up to a lot being done, even though it really is.

Well, the day's not over yet - will get back to some beading and feel more productive.

i like it better than the old one. you really sell that image of simplicity.

you've got some beautiful stuff. spent about an hour last night just paging through. Especially loved the steampunk stuff and the dragon stuff.

i'll have to see what my wife would wear.

I can totally sympathize with you. I have been doing "studio make-over" this weekend by accident! And now I have a bunch of pictures for more listings. It seem like I only have about a third of my stuff listed.

Hi WillowWalker - thanks for dropping by! I know what you mean about listings - I'm thinking that it's probably a good idea to spread them out over several days, to keep stuff popping up on the "new listings" feature...but I need to get ahead of the curve and get all that stuff photographed! Getting 3 or 4 views is the hard part, it takes about 15 - 20 minutes per listing (and that's if I'm lucky)

I'm going to focus on Art Fire for a bit, then back to Etsy...all on my "free time" from my day job...which is after dark, so that makes the photography challenging since the stuff looks so much better in natural light. *sigh*

Hi Dawno! I love the new banner! Please make sure you pat yourself on the back!!! Great job and in very little time. It's not easy carving out extra time in the day when you have travel to work, work, travel home, meal, kids/pets/spouse/self to deal with. If you like a clean house, well, that's more time! You should be happy because you are moving forward and really did accomplish a lot in my book!! Have a good one! Lisa C.

Thank you Lisa, seems like the new banner gets a thumbs up!

I'm a bit stiff and sore from all the heavy lifting, but if I could, I'd pat yourself on the back. All in all, though, I'm very happy I did the work.
